OHMME 3 2 4 3

Sima Cunningham and Macie Stewart who make up the Chicago duo Ohmme go all the way back since high school. In their very frank words the band started because "we knew we could sing well together, and we wanted to make some noise with the guitar". They have just announce a new album Fantasize Your Ghost, which will be available on June 5th, via Joyful Noise Recordings. The band share lead single & video "3 2 4 3" which "tackles the terrifying realisation of needing to make a change." Sima and Macie further explain that "the song was about seeing the landscape/neighborhood change in front of your eyes even though you don't want it to change,”. Its accompanying video, filmed in Mexico City and directed by Alejandra Villalba García. Opening he song is an entrancing guitar riff made from a repetition laid across a galloping drum beat. Fuzzed out bass notes resonate whilst the vocals are sturdy and direct, strengthened by harmony, which adds to the rising sense of urgency and anxiety. They’re set to support Waxahatchee & Wye Oak on tour in America. -Ellie Rose-Davies
